Free Traffic Time Lapse
Tonight I tested out a newer model of the Canon EOS 7D shooting video in 1920X1080 at 30 frames per second. When I started shooting, I realized my lens wasn’t long enough to get through the grate on the overpass, so I decided to make that the central focus point and use the traffic to create the bokeh background effect.
I learned a few things. First, people do notice you on the overpass and think it’s fun to honk their horns and wave. Secondly, get a longer lens so you have more available options for maneuvering around obstacles. Third, wear proper shoes for walking several miles. My flip flops didn’t quite cut it tonight and now blisters are forming. However, what is important, was testing to see how the camera can handle low light situations in fast paced action. It performed very well and will be testing it out again in even lower light.
